What Is Reality Based Self-Defense?
Reality Based Self-Defense is a broad definition covering the different concepts, tactics, and techniques that are simple enough to learn in a short period of time, require little to no strength or athleticism, and have a high probability of success in a real world self-defenses scenario.
Here is an interview that I did with a local media channel awhile back explaining a bit more about what that means…
Everything that I teach is based off of gross motor skills, which exponentially increases the likelihood that you will survive a violent encounter.
We also teach the concept of “attacking the attacker”, which effectively flips roles and allows you to become the attacker, not the defender, in a physically violent situation.
These basic concepts that I have taught for more than 20 years are the basis for why I believe that reality based self-defense such as Krav Maga (I’m a Certified Level 2 Krav Maga Instructor) is the absolute best martial arts for street fighting that is currently out there on the market today.
If you are looking for something very similar to what I teach in person in an online course, here is one I highly recommend.
